ESD Safe Work Area

Prof-Ed has never backed out in creating quality infrastructure. It has maintained ESD safe areas to enhance the quality of repair and provide better life to the repaired products. All the service centres have ESD safe areas which are continuously and periodically audited to maintain a uniform set standard. The workspace is equipped with ESD safe wrist bands and ESD safe slippers to make the work area and repair a "Complete ESD Safe" zone.

BGA Rework Station

Need of the present IT based repair scenario is the knowledge on BGA IC rework.
BGA ( Ball Grid Array) is utilised in RMA departments and Mobile Phone field. We at Prof-Ed we have BGA machines which we use to teach the students.

The student is taught the factors behind BGA temperature settings, BGA rework Process and also how to distinguish and do RoHS and Non RoHS BGA rework.

RAMCHECK

Testing RAM on a motherboard is very time-consuming. Worse, PC manufacturers use inexpensive memory sockets and these sockets are simply not designed for multiple insertion/removal cycles. These PC memory sockets break after a few uses and since the sockets are soldered directly to the main PC board this can result in very costly repair costs. But memory prices are just one part of the equation. You also need to consider the cost of time, waste and customer satisfaction.

The solution is with Memory Module Checking Test Tool which is the most advanced memory tester.

Other Equipments and Tools used in our Student Labs

Desoldering Workstation: Used for desoldering of surface mounted chips, transistors etc.
Temperature Controlled ESD Micro Soldering Station : Used for intricate soldering of fine ICs and SMDs.
Debugging Tools : We use the PCI debug cards and post Diagnostics cards for debugging and fault detection of motherboards.
SIMM Chip Tester : Used for checking DRAM components of SIMM and DIMM modules and diagnosing faults.
Solder Baths : Used for removal of CPU sockets, bus connectors, memory sockets, etc.
